Artist Farmer Scientist newspaper launch!

  • WayOut 71 Angus Avenue Kandos, NSW, 2848 Australia (map)

Hot off the press!

Join us for the gala launch of  "An artist, a farmer and a scientist walk into a bar..." - the newspaper! This publication is the culmination of that ever fertile and fecund project. We couldn’t want a better setting to share it with the world than Fermenta, a brand new festival celebrating all things fermented, hosted in Kandos and Rylstone.

This special edition newspaper, edited by Laura Fisher, Lucas Ihlein and Vickie Zhang, is a heady brew of farming, innovation and art from regional NSW and beyond. We have compiled more than 25 essays, poems, songs and beautiful pictorials that ferment relationships between people led by a common question:

How can we better care for our landscapes in these volatile times?

Join us for drinks, nibbles and an informal conversation with special guest collaborators.

Fermenta is a celebration of the fermentation process in all its wonderful forms. It’s bringing together science, education and the best of regional produce for a one-day festival. To find out about all the other workshops and events taking place visit https://fermenta.com.au/.

Please register your attendance here, for covid safety reasons and to help us anticipate numbers.

‘An artist, a farmer and a scientist walk into a bar…’ is a major creative arts initiative aiming to challenge and change the relationships we have with land. It has been staged in partnership with Cementa Inc., The Living Classroom and Starfish Initiatives and generously funded by a Regional Partnerships Grant from Create NSW. You can read more about it here.
